Our story
How we got our start Meli Wraps was born out of a deep love for our oceans and the planet we all share. Melia Foster, the owner and Co founder of Meli Wraps, started the company with her childhood friend Nicole Galchutt as a means to reduce plastic waste locally, and some day globally. What makes our product unique Meli means honeybee in Hawaiian, and we make Meli Wraps with local Hawaiian beeswax. That’s why our beeswax wraps last for one to two years and can stick to themselves to make envelopes, fit oddly shaped containers, and help replace sandwich bags! Why we love what we do We estimate we’ve helped keep over a million pounds of plastic out of the oceans and landfills by replacing single use plastic wrap and plastic sandwich bags with reusable beeswax wraps.
